If you'd like to add an additional management service. Ensure you have followed the Connect to a Machine instructions and then follow the procedure below.
Install Management Service
- Open the Capture Server Farm Administration app, usually at http://servername:7216.
- On the Farm page, locate the machine that you want to add the Management Service to, and then click the Expand button () next to it.
- Click the Install button next to the Management Service
The Add a Feature wizard will open.
- On the Add a Feature wizard’s Welcome page, click Next Page.
The wizard will proceed to unpack the feature.
- On the Configure Your Management Service page, configure the service, and then click Next Page.
For more information about the service options, refer to the following table.

Type a user name for the service account. |
Service Account Password |
Type the password for the service account. |
Show Port Configuration / Hide Port Configuration |
Show or hide the port numbers. |
Management Service Port |
This option is only present if you have clicked Show Port Configuration. Type the port number for the Management Service, or keep the default port of 7212. |
- On the Configure Your Management Databases page, configure the databases, and then click Next Page.
For more information about the database options, refer to the following table.

o Select Use Default to use the default database names. o Select Rename to rename the databases. |

If you are using SQL authentication, type the SQL user's name. |
SQL Account Password |
If you are using SQL authentication, type the SQL user's password. |
SQL Server Location |
o Select On-Premises if you are using an on-premises SQL server. o Select SQL Azure if you are using SQL server in the Azure cloud service. |
If you selected Rename for the Database Names option, the wizard will proceed to the Advanced Database Configuration page. Otherwise it will proceed to the Installing Feature(s) page.
- If you chose to rename the databases, rename the databases on the Advanced Database Configuration page, and then click Next Page.
The wizard will proceed to install the Management Service features.
- On the Installing Feature(s)page, after all of the installation actions have completed, click Next Page.
The wizard will proceed to perform some final installation tasks.
- On the Completing Install page, when all of the features have the Completed status, click Next Page.
- On the Install Successful page, click Finish.
- Using a network load balancer, configure a load balanced URL to distribute network traffic to all of the Management Services in the farm.
- Open the Capture Server Home page, usually at http://servername:7210.
- Open the Configuration app's Endpoints
- Change the Machine and Port for the Management Service to the load balanced URL, and then click Save.
