Assist is a content pack that can be installed through the Farm Administration app. It includes the following pack files:
- Assist.Plugin.ID_1.9.0.0.klpack
- Assist.Plugin.OCR_1.9.0.0.klpack
- KL.Apps.Assist_1.9.0.0.klpack
- Worker.Plugins.Assist_1.9.0.0.klpack
NOTE: The file version after the underscore may vary depending on what version you are installing.
These features require the Omni Service and Persistence Service. Those services are included in the base Capture Server installation. If you are upgrading from a previous version, you may need to install them as part of the process of installing Assist.
Installation
Installation will be performed in the following major steps:
- Copy Install Packs
- Install the Assist App
- Install the Omni Service and Persistence Service
- Finalize Installation of App and Services
- Install the Assist Activities
- Configure Assist Locations
Copy Install Packs
- Ensure the appropriate version of Capture Server is installed.
- Download the following klpack files.
- Plugin.ID_1.9.0.0.klpack
- Plugin.OCR_1.9.0.0.klpack
- Apps.Assist_1.9.0.0.klpack
- Plugins.Assist_1.9.0.0.klpack
NOTE: The file version after the underscore may vary depending on what version you are installing.
- Copy those klpack files to the Inventory Service’s pack location.
- Restart the Inventory service.
Install the Assist App
- Open Farm Administration, usually at http://servername:7216.
- On the Farm page, expand the server where you want to install Assist.
- Expand Apps Framework.
- Click the Install button next to the Assist App. The Add a Feature wizard will open.
- On the Add a Feature wizard’s Welcome page, click Next Page. The wizard will proceed to unpack the feature.
- On the Choose Plugins to Install page, ensure all of the options are selected, and then click Next Page.
If you upgraded to the current version from a Capture Server 1.8 or earlier, or if you otherwise do not have the Omni Service and Persistence Service installed, you will need to install them now, as described in step 8. If this is a new Capture Server 1.9 installation, proceed to step 9.
Install the Omni Service and Persistence Service
- On the New Core Features page, click Next Page.
- On the Features to Install page, ensure that all of the options are selected and the correct server is selected, and then click Next Page. The wizard proceed to unpack the features.
- On the Preparing to Install page, after all of the preparation actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Configure Your Omni Service page, type a service account name and password, optionally configure the port number, and then click Next Page.
- On the File Convert OmniService Plugin Pack Configuration page, ensure the Capture Server Install Path is correct, and then click Next Page.
- On the Tesseract OCR OmniService Plugin Pack Configuration page, ensure the Capture Server Install Path is correct, and then click Next Page.
- On the Configure Your Omni Service page, type a service account name and password, optionally configure the port number, and then click Next Page. The wizard will proceed to install the features.
- On the Installing Features page, after all of the installation actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Completing Install page, after the post-installation actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Install Successful page, click Finish. The Assist app installation will resume.
Finalize Installation of App and Services
- On the Assist App Configuration page, ensure the Capture Server Install Path is correct, and then click Next Page.
- On the Assist Identification Tool Pack Configuration page, ensure the Capture Server Install Path is correct, and then click Next Page.
- On the Assist OCR Tool Pack Configuration page, ensure the Capture Server Install Path is correct, and then click Next Page. The wizard will proceed to install the features.
- On the Installing Features page, after all of the installation actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Install Successful page, click Finish.
Install the Assist Activities
- Expand Processing Service> Persistence Service Cmdlets.
- Click the Install button next to the Assist Activities. The Add a Feature wizard will open.
- On the Add a Feature wizard’s Welcome page, click Next Page. The wizard will proceed to unpack the feature.
- On the Preparing to Install page, after all of the actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Pack Configuration page, ensure the Capture Server Install Path is correct, and then click Next Page.
- On the Installing Features page, after all of the installation actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Completing Install page, after all of the post-installation actions have completed, click Next Page.
- On the Install Successful page, click Finish.
Configure Assist Locations
- Open the Capture Server Home page, usually at http://servername:7210.
- On the Sign In page, sign in to Apps.
- Select the User Catalog that can validate your credentials.
- Type your Username.
- Type your Password.
- Click Sign In.
- Click the Configuration
- Click Assist.
- In the Template File Share Directory box, type a UNC path to the folder where you want to store your Assist templates.
- In the Reporting Database Directory box, type a UNC path to the folder where you want to store the Assist reporting database.
- When you have finished Assist, click Save.
