Capture Server Pro - Roles

Roles determine which activities the Processing Service will process. You can add new roles to the farm if you want to split activities across multiple roles.

NOTE: For more information on assigning a role to a worker, reference the Worker Machines Article.

Add a Role

1. Open the Configuration app's Processing
2. Click Show Advanced Options to reveal the tabs for the advanced options.
3. On the Roles tab, click Add a Role.
4. On the Configure Your Role window, name the new role and assign activities to it.
   • In the Role Name box, type a unique and descriptive name for the role.
   • To add an activity to the role, select an activity in the Unassigned Activities list and then click the Right Arrow Button () to add it to the Assigned Activities
   • To remove an activity from the role, select an activity in the Assigned Activities list and then click the Left Arrow Button () to add it to the Unassigned Activities
5. When you have finished configuring the new role, click Finish.

Edit a Role

1. Open the Configuration app's Processing
2. Click Show Advanced Options to reveal the tabs for the advanced options.
3. On the Roles tab, click the Edit button () next to the role that you want to edit.
4. On the Configure Your Role window, reconfigure the role.
   • In the Role Name box, type a unique and descriptive name for the role.
   • To add an activity to the role, select an activity in the Unassigned Activities list and then click the Right Arrow Button () to add it to the Assigned Activities
   • To remove an activity from the role, select an activity in the Assigned Activities list and then click the Left Arrow Button () to add it to the Unassigned Activities
5. When you have finished reconfiguring the role, click Finish.

Delete a Role

1. Open the Configuration app's Processing
2. Click Show Advanced Options to reveal the tabs for the advanced options.
3. On the Roles tab, click the Remove button () next to the role that you want to remove.
4. On the Delete Role window, click Confirm.
