There are a variety of styles you can display your indexing fields as that have different configuration options.

NOTE: If a repository has fields that correlate to these, they will often have their style automatically set when the destination is configured.

All Fields
There are a few common configuration options for all fields.
- Label - The field's display name
- Visible - Determines whether the field can be seen by users in the Index Panel
- Enabled - Select whether a user can manually edit the field in the index panel
Lookup Fields
A drop-down list box that allows only one option to be selected, with available choices provided by an External Source Lookup indexing behavior.
NOTE: This field style requires you to have a source configured.
Additional Configuration Options
- Allow Fill-Ins - Allows users to enter values that do not appear in the list
Boolean Fields
A single checkbox that offers a yes or no choice based on whether the box is checked.
Checkbox Fields
A choice between two or more options that allows multiple options to be selected, with available choices provided by an External Source Lookup indexing behavior.
NOTE: This field style requires you to have a source configured.
Additional Configuration Options
- Allow Fill-Ins - Allows users to enter values that do not appear in the list
Currency Fields
A text box that allows numeric values, with buttons to increase or decrease the value by .01.
Additional Configuration Options
- Decimal Places - Type the number of places you want the value to be limited to
- Culture - Select the formatting culture for decimals, commas, and the currency symbol
DateTime Fields
A text box that allows date and time values, with a button that presents a calendar that you can use to pick a date and another button that presents a list of times.
Additional Configuration Options
- Date Only - Chooses whether the field allows only dates or dates and times
- Culture - Selects the formatting culture
Drop Down Fields
A drop-down list box that allows only one option to be selected, with available choices provided by an External Source Lookup indexing behavior.
NOTE: This field style requires you to have a source configured.
Additional Configuration Options
- Allow Fill-Ins - Allows users to enter values that do not appear in the list
- Allow (None) As Option - Allows users to leave the field blank
MultiLine Text Fields
A scrollable text box that allows values that can contain multiple lines of text.
Additional Configuration Options
- Number of Lines - Type the number of lines that you want to display in the field without scrolling
Number Fields
A text box that allows numeric values, with buttons to increase or decrease the value by one.
- Decimal Places - Type the number of places you want the value to be limited to.
Radio Button Fields
A choice between two or more options that allows only one option to be selected, with available choices provided by an External Source Lookup indexing behavior.
NOTE: This field style requires you to have a source configured.
- Allow Fill-Ins - Allows users to enter values that do not appear in the list
- Allow (None) As Option - Allows users to leave the field blank
Term Set Fields
A collection of related terms that are organized hierarchically, from which you can choose one or more values.
NOTE: This style is only available for managed metadata columns from SharePoint, SharePoint Online, or KnowledgeLake Imaging.
Text Fields
A text box that allows plain text values.
